What is the Random JSON Data Generator?
Building a front end before the API is ready, writing unit tests or demoing a dashboard all call for realistic sample data. This generator outputs a valid, pretty-printed JSON array that you can paste straight into a fixture file, a mock server or an API client.
Choose a Record type to shape the data. “Users” returns objects with fields such as a UUID id, firstName, lastName, email and phone. “Customers with address” adds a full postal address, while “Products” and “Orders” give you catalog and transaction-style records. Use the Country option to localize names and details — pick from a long list of countries, from Argentina and Australia to Japan and Nigeria, or choose “Random country” for an international mix. Generate up to 50 records per batch.
Email addresses use reserved or test domains such as example.org, so they will never reach a real inbox. The data is fictional and created in your browser; it is not linked to real people and nothing is uploaded or stored.
How to use the Random JSON Data Generator

- Select a Country to localize the data, or “Random country” for a mix.
- Enter How many? records you need, up to 50.
- Press Generate, then copy the JSON or download it as a file.
Popular uses
- Front-end developers — build UIs against realistic data before the backend exists.
- QA engineers — create fixtures for unit, integration and end-to-end tests.
- API designers — prototype response payloads and mock endpoints.
- Educators — teach JSON structure and data handling with relatable examples.
- Product teams — populate demos and screenshots without exposing real customer data.
Why use RandNow?
- Instant & unlimited — no sign-up, no daily caps.
- Private by design — results are generated in your browser, not on our servers.
- Export-ready — copy, CSV, JSON and TXT downloads built in.
- Cryptographically random — powered by the Web Crypto API.
Working with mock JSON
Save the output as a .json file in your test fixtures folder, serve it from a mock server, or import it into a database seed script. Because every record has a unique UUID id, you can safely use the ids as keys in lists and lookups. Generating small batches for unit tests and larger ones for pagination and performance checks covers most needs.
Privacy by design
Using fictional data instead of copies of production records keeps personal information out of test environments and simplifies compliance. Press Generate again for a fresh set — it’s free and unlimited.
Frequently asked questions
Is the generated JSON valid?
Yes. The output is a well-formed, pretty-printed JSON array that you can parse directly or paste into any tool that accepts JSON.
What kinds of records can I generate?
Four record types: users, customers with address, products and orders. Users include fields such as id, firstName, lastName, email and phone.
Are the people in the data real?
No. Names and details are randomly combined and emails use test domains, so the records are not linked to real people.
How many records can I generate at once?
Up to 50 records per batch, localized to the country you select.
