What is the Random Day of the Week Generator?
The Random Day of the Week Generator picks a day from Monday to Sunday with equal odds. It is a simple, fair way to decide when to hold a meeting, which evening is game night or which day a chore lands on. No more arguing about whose turn it is to choose.
Turn off Include weekends to draw only from Monday to Friday — useful for work and school schedules. You can pick from one to seven days per click; with weekends excluded there are five possible days, so a larger draw is the quickest way to put workdays into a random order for a rotation.
Randomness comes from your browser’s Web Crypto API, and nothing you generate is stored. Copy the result with one click, export it as CSV, JSON or TXT, or press Enter or Space to draw again instantly. A shareable link keeps your settings, so your team or family can use the same setup.

Where weekday names come from
In English, most day names honor gods and celestial bodies. Sunday and Monday come from the Sun and Moon, Saturday from the Roman god Saturn, and Tuesday through Friday from Norse and Germanic gods: Tiw, Woden, Thor and Frigg. Many other languages follow the Roman planets instead — the French “mercredi”, for example, comes from Mercury. That makes a random day a fun hook for trivia nights, quizzes and language lessons alike, especially with younger learners.
