What is the Random Quote Generator?

The Random Quote Generator picks short, memorable quotes from a curated collection of proverbs and well-known voices — people like Lao Tzu, Ralph Waldo Emerson, Albert Einstein and Thomas Edison. Every result shows the quote in typographic quotation marks followed by its author or origin, so you can paste it straight into a slide, a post or a card without reformatting.

There is only one setting to worry about: How many? Ask for a single quote when you want a quick daily thought, or generate up to 20 at once to build a shortlist. Because each pick is random, a large batch can occasionally repeat a favorite — simply press Generate again for a different mix.

The selection happens in your browser using the Web Crypto API, and nothing you generate is stored. You can copy one quote, copy the whole list or download it as CSV, JSON or TXT, and share a link that reopens the tool with the same settings.

How to use the Random Quote Generator

  1. Decide how many quotes you want and enter it in the “How many?” box (1 to 20).
  2. Press Generate to draw random quotes with their authors.
  3. Read through the list and copy the one that fits, or use Copy all.
  4. Export the batch as CSV, JSON or TXT, or press Enter or Space for a fresh set.

Why use RandNow?

  • Instant & unlimited — no sign-up, no daily caps.
  • Private by design — results are generated in your browser, not on our servers.
  • Export-ready — copy, CSV, JSON and TXT downloads built in.
  • Cryptographically random — powered by the Web Crypto API.

How to use a quote well

A quote works best when it supports your own point rather than replacing it. Keep the wording exactly as shown, always credit the author, and add one sentence explaining why it matters to your audience. For presentations, a short quote on its own slide with plenty of white space is more powerful than a long one squeezed under bullet points.

Attribution online is notoriously messy, and many famous lines are paraphrased or credited to the wrong person. If you are publishing in print or in a formal paper, double-check the source in a reputable quotation reference first. For everyday captions and classroom warm-ups, just enjoy the inspiration — press Generate again for a new quote whenever you like.
