What is the Random Gradient Generator?

The Random Gradient Generator creates CSS gradients you can paste directly into a stylesheet. Each result is a valid CSS value such as linear-gradient(157deg, #3BA5DE, #BE1FEA), combining a random angle with random hex colors, and is shown as a live preview so you can judge it at a glance.

Choose the Type — Linear, Radial or Conic — and the number of Colors: two for smooth, minimal blends or three for richer transitions. Linear gradients flow along an angle, radial gradients spread out from a center point and conic gradients sweep around a center like a color wheel. The How many? setting generates from 1 to 40 gradients at once, with eight as the default.

Generation happens in your browser and nothing is stored. Copy a single gradient, copy all values, or export the batch as CSV, JSON or TXT for your design system or a shared mood board with your team.

How to use the Random Gradient Generator

  1. Choose a type: Linear, Radial or Conic.
  2. Pick 2 or 3 colors and set how many gradients you want (1 to 40).
  3. Press Generate to see live previews with their CSS code.
  4. Copy the code into your background property or export the batch.

Using a gradient in CSS

Paste the generated value into the background or background-image property, for example background: linear-gradient(157deg, #3BA5DE, #BE1FEA);. Linear, radial and conic gradients are supported in all modern browsers. If you place text on top, check the contrast against both ends of the gradient, not just the middle, so it stays readable for everyone.

Subtle gradients between neighboring hues look calm and professional; strong contrasts work for bold hero sections and buttons. To soften a harsh result, keep the angle and nudge one color closer to the other. Press Generate again for a new set — it’s free and unlimited.
