What is the Random Currency Generator?
The Random Currency Generator draws currencies from a list of 46 and shows each with its three-letter code, its symbol and its full name, like “KRW ₩ (South Korean won)”, “VND ₫ (Vietnamese đồng)” or “GBP £ (Pound sterling)”. The codes follow the ISO 4217 style used by banks, payment providers and accounting software.
The How many? field accepts 1 to 46, so at the maximum you can see a large share of the list in one go. Each pick is made independently in your browser with the Web Crypto API, meaning repeats are possible within a batch; nothing is sent to a server or saved.
Currency data is surprisingly tricky in software. Several currencies share the same symbol — the dollar sign is used by AUD, CAD, USD and others, and ¥ appears for both the Chinese yuan and the Japanese yen — which is exactly why the three-letter code matters. Copy the results or export them as CSV, JSON or TXT to seed test data, flashcards or spreadsheets.

Formatting money correctly
Symbols can sit before or after the number, decimal separators may be a point or a comma, and some currencies are rarely shown with decimals at all. When building a shop or invoice, store amounts with the ISO code and let a locale-aware formatter decide how to display them. Test with symbols like ₩, ₫ and ₨ to make sure your fonts include them.
Codes and names are for information and testing; check a financial source for live exchange rates. Press Generate again for a fresh set — it’s free and unlimited.
