What is the Random Color Palette Generator?
The Random Color Palette Generator opens in Harmonious palette mode with five colors — a ready-made set of related hues you can use for a website, a logo, a presentation or an illustration. Every swatch shows its hex code, such as #C02E26 or #8ACA49, so you can paste it straight into CSS, Figma or any design app.
Use the Palette menu to switch styles: Fully random for anything goes, Pastel for soft, light tones, Vivid for saturated, energetic colors, Dark for deep shades and Named colors for recognizable named hues. The How many? setting generates from 1 to 60 colors at once, so you can create a tight five-color scheme or a large swatch library.
Colors are generated in your browser with the Web Crypto API, and nothing is stored. Copy a single hex code, copy the whole palette or export it as CSV, JSON or TXT. A shareable link keeps your settings.

Turning swatches into a usable palette
A popular rule of thumb is 60-30-10: use one color for about 60% of the design (usually a background or neutral), a second for about 30% and an accent for the remaining 10%. With a five-color palette, keep the two extra colors for states like hover, success or warning.
Always check contrast between text and background. Light text on a light swatch, or dark on dark, quickly becomes unreadable, especially for people with low vision. If a palette feels almost right, lock in your favorite hex codes and generate again for the rest. Press Generate again for a fresh palette — it’s free and unlimited.
